Tire caught fire: caravan completely burned out on A8

A caravan was completely destroyed by fire on the A8 motorway near Haag am Hausruck on October 26, 2025. The 44-year-old driver noticed smoke from a tire, stopped, and attempted to extinguish the fire with a handheld extinguisher before detaching the trailer. The fire brigade suspects a stuck brake caused the blaze, leading to a lane closure and brief traffic congestion for about an hour.
