Will Motorhomes Soon Need a Tachograph?

The European Commission has clarified that non-commercial motorhomes over 7.5 tonnes will not be subject to mandatory tachograph rules. This follows a proposal that initially caused uncertainty for owners of heavier vehicles, particularly when towing trailers or carrying specific loads. The new EU position allows member states to explicitly exempt such private vehicles from driving time, rest period, and tachograph regulations.
